Chubby's is a family place in every sense of the word. The couple behind it have been together for the better part of fifty years, and that same closeness carries straight into the kitchen, where the cooking still leans on recipes handed down through the family. Even the cornbread starts the old way, with Clyde's own cornmeal mix.
Walk in and there's a good chance family will be looking after you. Regulars will tell you the owner's daughter and other family members are right there working the floor, keeping the sweet tea full and making sure every plate goes out the way it ought to.
